Are there objects that human words will never describe? Do you think you will encounter anything you cannot put into words? Let\u2019s go further and think beyond verbalizing. Have you considered an object that the mind cannot encircle? Have you ever stepped out to imagine such a possibility? God is that possibility!<\/p>\n
Do not bother to reach for, something, some person that would fill this void: reach for the indescribable, inconceivable situation itself because that\u2019s as far as you\u2019re going to get. Now, what if The One with the name God was unbelievably inclusive? Simply put, He wants each of us as friends. How could such a desire ever occur? Think about this: What if our inconceivable object reduces to something conceivable, a form we can take? In this case, we are talking about the actual wonders of God. This reduction happens with the appearance of The Son. Yet, even with this reduction, the book of Hebrews says, this Son\u2014the One we can take\u2014created everything we can see.<\/p>\n
When it comes to analogs to explain God or see Him, there are none. A person, place, or thing is only comparable to Him. They are only similar in some aspects. How much can you liken a shepherd and sheep to God and us? It\u2019s merely a direction of conception; it is valid only to some extent. It\u2019s that shortfall with approximations we don\u2019t keep in mind. Human simile or metaphor does not liken to the nth degree. If they did, then they would cease to be similes or metaphors and become the thing compared. Even so, the human mind tends to make \u201ca likened\u201d to become \u201cthe actual.\u201d This tendency is particularly true as knowledge passes from teacher to student. We have lost the science of the likened, replacing it with the science of literal physics. The science of physics is only comparable to spiritual realities, and when forgotten, then our spiritual realities become mythical or explained in convoluted, impractical ways.<\/p>\n
God, to whom Jesus likened to a father, exists and acts without resolution. How does a person talk about such an actor in reality without simile or metaphor? This problem has been and always will be. If we had the complete answer to who God is, there would be nothing above us, nothing to reach for, nothing for our future.\u00a0 The good news is: there is enough God to last for eternity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
